Meet Dr. William C. Washington, affectionately known as, "Your Friendly Neighborhood Counselor Dr. Will." A trailblazer in the realms of psychology and music, Dr. Will stands at the forefront of what he calls the "Silver Age of Psychology." With a unique flair that blends rhythm with therapeutic insight, he has carved out a niche that celebrates the healing power of authenticity.

Dr. Will is a licensed professional clinical counselor supervisor, clinical hypnotherapist, and a distinguished psychedelic-assisted therapist, specializing in integration methods using psychedelics for experiential learning. As an Assistant Trainer for the Internal Family Systems Institute and a proud member of Black Therapists Rock, he is devoted to mentoring the next generation of counselors. His innovative spirit shines through as a virtual reality therapist, where he has crafted immersive worlds that empower children to express themselves in a digital space. He is also on the Clinical Advisory Board of Backline Care, a dedicated mental health organization within the music industry.

Holding a Ph.D. in Health Psychology, Dr. Will dives deep into the waters of moral distress and recovery from secondary traumas, ranging from burnout to compassion fatigue. He’s not just a thinker but a doer, advocating for improved healthcare provisions for mothers facing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and authoring insightful studies on the emotional toll of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the Master's Event at Oxford University, Dr. Will spoke about how to heal in community with some of the most prominent experts in psychology.

In addition to his psychological prowess, Dr. Will founded Viewunity, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering wellness among creatives, Games Culture, and advocating for inclusive spaces where creativity can flourish. Through streaming and gaming, he champions mental health while raising funds for children in hospitals. As a musician, Dr. Will has mastered nine instruments and counting, performing with the celebrated afrofuturistic sound of Mourning [A] BLKstarand the energetic Da Land Brass Bandin Cleveland, OH. His musical creations have graced venues like Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and The Kennedy Center, transcending borders to echo in places like Germany's Christoph Winkler Company. He currently creates musical healing spaces with Sacred Pulse.

Dr. Will's life is a symphony of healing, innovation, and artistry — a true testament to the belief that the most profound connections can be made when we express our truest selves.

Intake & Specialty Clinician

Dr. Will is passionate about his clients, and about getting the care that is right for you. Because of this, he has transitioned from providing general therapy services, and into the role of Intake Clinician.

Taking the time to figure out what each person needs, wants, and expects from their therapist allows us to cut down on the awkward "therapist shopping" phase and get on with the healing. From his position at the heart of the practice, Dr. Will is deeply familiar with the skills and strengths of his team. New clients are able to schedule 4-8 sessions (4 weeks) with Dr. Will, after which he will recommend a clinician that best suits their needs. 

Dr. Will is still available for specialized services on a case-by-case basis.
